The system works the same for the 8 second rule. However, if you were to attack another player before the timer ends, it will reset. Once the timer is finished, your name will revert to white once more. For example, a timer will go off which leaves you pink for about 16 seconds. When you have a pink name, the 16 second rule is the result. Disposition is only currently redeemable by killing monsters or dying. The more you kill, the higher your disposition goes up. You may be unable to do as much damage as you could before, or even access your bank, or shop around.
